Heywood Engineering, Inc. was founded by Lance Heywood, P.E.  Lance was born and raised in San Jose, CA and attended high school at Bellarmine College Prep.  Lance then moved on to Santa Clara University where he obtained his degree in Electrical Engineering. 

 

Lance went to work for Rosendin Electric, Inc. in 1982 and spent time designing power, lighting and communication systems for large commercial and industrial facilities.  From there, Lance worked for nine years as the chief electrical engineer and electrical department manager for a large Ropeway Transportation Company before starting Heywood Engineering in 1993.

 

Since 1984 Lance has specialized in the control, power, propulsion and automation needs of the Amusement, Entertainment, Recreation and Transportation industries. 

 

Lance is a member of IEEE and ISA.

 

Lance and his wife, Jennifer, live in southwest Reno with their two teenage sons.  In winter, Lance enjoys making turns at the many wonderful snow sport resorts in the region.  Summer will find him spending as much time as possible in his boat on the waters of Tahoe.  

 

Lance is active in his local church, Reno Vineyard, and his Christian Faith is central to his life.
